Goals with purpose.
Last year The Wykeham Collegiate 1st team hockey team had a visit to Siyakhula Creche, and this visit left us inspired, excited and challenged to do something meaningful for this beautiful bunch of children by doing something we love with a greater purpose.
This season, 2026, every goal scored by our 1st team will raise funds for Siyakhula Creche through Singawkwenza’s early learning program. Our goal is so raise R42 000 to provide education for 10 children for this year. Through this campaign we hope to play a small part in making their lives easier and giving them a better start and a greater opportunity.
Singakwenza is an early childhood development non-profit that trains caregivers to provide fun, educational activities that enable children to learn through play using recycled resources. Singakwenza proudly partners with Siyakhula Creche.

Story
Singakwenza, meaning “We can do it!”, is a South African non-profit organisation committed to providing quality early childhood education in economically disadvantaged communities. Their focus is on equipping caregivers, parents and practitioners with practical skills and resources to help young children learn through play, laying the foundation for future learning and development.
What makes Singakwenza unique is their ability to transform everyday recycled materials into powerful learning tools. Rather than relying on expensive equipment, they train practitioners to create stimulating educational activities from accessible resources. Through ongoing mentorship and structured support, crèches are strengthened and transformed into environments where children can thrive.
Siyakhula Crèche, based in Imbali, is one of the centres supported by Singakwenza. The crèche currently cares for 15 children and is run by two dedicated teachers ,one permanent and one assisting. With continued support, Siyakhula is able to provide a nurturing, structured early learning environment that helps give these children the strongest possible start in life.
